No matter what there is always some sort of story of Cinderella. There is always a difference or different way it’s perceived by other people. Especially the difference between “ever after” and “Maid in Manhattan”.
First, in the two movies there are some similarities. For example in both movies the character Cinderella is a maid and is being treated like they are nothing but dirt, in “Ever After” Danielle lives with her evil stepmother and stepsisters but in “Maid in Manhattan”, as in other movie the character that resembles Cinderella lives in a apartment complex with her son and cleans rich people’s apartments. In both movies in the end they both end up having to confess to the man that they love who is a prince soon to be married to a girl from Spain or a guy who is running for senator and sees her in a apartment in a real glamorous dress that they are nothing but a maid or lower class women, and in both movies it takes a little bit for the man/prince to see that they love the character Cinderella and they live happily ever after.
Second, as many as there are similarities there are as many differences, for example as in “Maid in Manhattan” she faces the problem of being at work and not making enough money to support her son in her apartment she needs to get the opening in management so that she can stay in her current home. In “Ever After” Danielle is faced with her step mother and step sisters always demanding this and that from her like she is expected to bring breakfast to the table and every thing they want to have on there eggs like salt an they also expect her to pour there drinks. Also there is a slight difference between when they go to the “party” in “Ever After” the “party” is a masque ball where every one dresses up as something else as not to be recognizable by others, in “Maid in Manhattan” it is a party where wealthy people dress up in there fancies and dance and meet people and support the running senator in his campaign against his competitors.
In conclusion, there may be different versions of the story Cinderella they all have the same theme , to live happily ever after.
